I'm stupid <:D> and a new poem

LOL, I just realized that for some reason the dates on the two previous posts are erroneous...I actually put them up Sunday night. :D

Here's a new poem I wrote - Tell me what you think!


“A Look In The Mirror”

I watched the mirror and saw myself
From someone else’s point of view
I watched the mirror and saw myself
Abstractly becoming someone new

I watched the mirror and saw myself
And saw my heart torn to pieces

I watched the mirror and saw myself
Hard to say but I was crying

I watched the mirror and saw myself
Saw my soul burned to ashes

I watched the mirror and saw myself
And knew that I was dying

I watched the mirror and saw myself
Lift my head, bloody and broken

I watched the mirror and saw myself
A falling star that would not die

I watched the mirror and saw myself
Light a fire in the ashes as a token

I watched the mirror and saw myself
A fallen star refusing to die

I watched the mirror and saw myself
Living my own last prayer

I watched the mirror and saw myself
A black rose bleeding red

I looked into the mirror and saw myself
I looked into the mirror and saw myself
Saw in myself the star, the rose
And watched myself learn to live alone.

I like the first stanza. But the rest is a little over the top, no?
"learn to live alone." sounds familiar. :p

LOL, it sounds familiar b/c it's part of the Phantom's song at the end of the POTO soundtrack...I left an author's note on my fictionpress site explaining the poem, if ya want to check it out...I like to compare myself to the Phantom sometimes.
